Caligula DVD to be released uncut in the UK

Caligula The censorship laws in the UK have been pushed a little further with the news that controversial historical epic Caligula has been passed for release in its uncut state.

It might be controversial, but this Tinto Brass-directed flick packs a top-notch cast including Malcolm McDowell, Sir John Gielgud, Peter O’Toole and Helen Mirren, all playing it straight-faced despite the catalogue of extreme violence and sex acts going on all around them. I'll not go into detail - but suffice to say, it's not a movie to watch on Christmas Day with your gran.

Caligula: The Imperial Edition
is being released by Arrow as a four-disc set that features three separate versions of the film including the complete, fully uncut and uncensored version. For what you get, not badly priced either with an RRP of £24.99. Expect it on the high street from 29th September 2008.
