Back in May at our sister site Retro To Go, we mentioned that Ford was producing a limited edition Ford Mustang Bullitt to commemorate 40s years since its appearance in the movie. And as we enter 2008, more details and pictures have emerged.
The 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt has a 4.6-litre V8 engine, a sport-tuned chassis and suspension to boost handling (if you fancy re-creating that car chase) and a 'revised rear-axle ratio' for better acceleration. The paint job will be Dark Highland Green (as the original), the car will be without logos - again as the film car was and most bizarrely of all, the exhaust sound will be just as the original, with the designers having listened to the movie soundtrack to get it just right.
I'm personally not excited by the look of the car, but it could be a shrewd investment, with just 7,700 of these being made. Expect it in 2008 for $31,075 (around £16,000).
Whilst out shopping today, I noticed (and indeed bought) TV Film Memorabilia magazine, which claims to be a publication for 'fans of TV, film & collectables from the 1960s to the present day'.
And while not everything in there appeals, it's certainly worth a browse, especially for fans of 60s TV. The current issue includes an extensive feature on The Avengers (and classic collectables and merchandise), vintage tie-ins from Adam Adamant, Monkees memorabilia, Batman vs The Green Hornet, a feature on 1967 and various buyer's guides for vintage items.
It does occasionally go a bit too sci-fi geek for my own tastes (and there's the worry that future issues might go a little too far that way), but this first issue is certainly worth a look in your local newsagents. It retails for £3.
Movie memorabilia collectors living in or just visiting the North Eastern area of the U.S., won't want to miss the upcoming Cinema Wasteland: Movie & Memorabilia Expo in Strongsville Ohio.
This three day event takes place March 30th - April 1st and will feature 16mm movie and video screenings all weekend long, as well as question & answer sessions with various celebrity guests and a giant dealer's room offering collectors a chance to load up on rare movie memorabilia such as movie posters, videos & DVDs, books, magazines, toys, model kits, soundtracks, autographs, photographs, and much more.
Some of the guests attending this event include actors such as Steve Railsback (Helter Skelter, The Stunt Man, etc.), Caroline Munro (Dracula A.D. 1972, The Spy Who Loved Me, etc.), Tura Satana (Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, Astro-Zombies, etc.) Haji (Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Supervixens, etc.), Marilyn Burns (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Helter Skelter, etc.), Camille Keaton (I Spit On Your Grave, What Have They Done to Solange?, etc.) and Jonathan Haze (Little Shop of Horrors, X: The Man With X-Ray Eyes, etc.).

Christies in London hosts a Film and Entertainment sale on Monday 5th December, with around 277 lots of props and memorabilia from film, TV and theatre - the pick of which is Audrey Hepburn and James Bond memorabilia.
For Audrey Hepburn fans, there's the black Givenchy dress made for her for the 1961 classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It's being auctioned for charity, with an estimate of £50,000-70,000. Other items include a Hepburn cocktail dress from Charade, a costume from Sabrina and a selection of original cinema posters, photographs and autographed material.
The James Bond lots are led by a selection of guns used by Bond himself, Bond girls, villains and henchmen. These include Sean Connery’s Walther PP from Dr. No (£15,000-25,000), Pierce Brosnan’s Walther P99 from Die Another Day (£5,000-7,000) , Roger Moore’s Walther PPK from For Your Eyes Only (£8,000-£12,000) and Timothy Dalton’s WA2000 sniper rifle from The Living Daylights ( £4,000-6,000)
Other characters’ guns include Tanaka’s Gyro Jet gun from You Only Live Twice, Nick-Nack’s Derringer from The Man with the Golden Gun and Halle Berry’s Beretta Cheetah handgun and silencer from Die Another Day (£5,000–£7,000). All have now been decommissioned to UK legal requirements.
