The London Nobody Knows (1967)

Jamesmason Architecture Week might seem a strange place to look for cult movies, but the most unusual cinematic gems are often found in the most obscure places.

And here's a gem rarely seen on the big or small screen - James Mason's The London Nobody Knows. It's a short, filmed in 1967, following the esteemed actor around the "underside of London" -  covert and esoteric parts of the city, which at that time had survived the bulldozer. But almost 40 years on, now long gone.

The bill is curated by Saint Etienne, who are also showing their own Finisterre movie on the bill, described as " a poignant ‘psycho-geographical’ drama that celebrates the capital in both its seediness and glory."

You can catch both movies at the Barbican in London on Sunday 25th June at 3pm. For more information, visit

These aren't the only movies showing as part of Architecture Week. For what's on in your area, visit
