Two Lane Blacktop (1971) heads to DVD

Another cult movie makes it onto DVD in the UK - Monte Hellman’s Two Lane Blacktop.

It's been unavailable here for many years due to disputes over music rights, but the road movie has finally bypassed all that and is set to launch on 18th June 2007. Two Lane Blacktop stars the late Beach Boys’ drummer Dennis Wilson in his only major screen role, with other non-actors including James Taylor and photographer Laurie Bird also starring alongside Warren Oates in a road race along Route 66.

Its unavailability has created a big black market for it (see Amazon's marketplace). That should end when it goes up for sale for £12.99.
